Day 2

Tulum and Cobá
Enjoy a privately guided excursion to Tulum, considered one of the most beautiful Mayan archaeological sites. Tulum by no means is the largest site on The Yucatan Peninsula but it is most picturesque with its striking backdrop overlooking the turquoise Caribbean Sea.  Lunch is served in one of the fabulous beachfront restaurants nearby. Your excursion continues with the ancient city of Cobá, where bikes await and you get to explore spectacular remnants of a bygone civilization. Ramble over the ruins at one of the largest Mayan cities. Visitors who brave the steep climb up the highest pyramid in Mexico’s Mayan world reap the reward of a breathtaking view. At more than 130 feet (40 meters) in height, Nohuch Mul, which means “large mound” in the Mayan language, it is the only climbable ruin left on the entire eastern Peninsula.

Rounding up the day, enjoy a highlight dinner at a ranch located on “La Ruta de los Cenotes” (“Route of the Cenotes”). Cenotes are underground crystalline water wells, rivers or caves unique to this area). Tucked away in the jungle you will be presented with the finest cuisine the Mayan have to offer.

Day 3

Talking about cenotes, today you will actually enter one of these natural underground “museums” filled with a kaleidoscope of speleothems. The 1 and ½ hour walking expedition is amidst thousands of stalactites and stalagmites. Learn and marvel about this ancient, magical subterranean world that until recently had remained unexplored for millions of years.

Lunch is at leisure at the resort, and the afternoon can either be spent indulging in spa treatments or relaxation on the beach; for the ones still seeking for an activity, set sail on a private catamaran and watch as the day ends and the silver moon rises over the Caribbean Sea.

 Day 4

You will immerse in the profound Pre-Hispanic history and era of the Conquerors. Discover, in a full day privately guided excursion, the archaeological city of Chichén Itzá, relish a refreshing swim in the cenote “Ikil”, enjoy lunch at a hacienda and lastly tour of one of Mexico´s Magic Towns (Pueblos Mágicos).

The Mayan empire and capital Chichén Itzá, translating into “at the mouth of the well of Itza “, is the 2nd most visited archeological site of Mexico. The Kukulkan Pyramid, also known as “El Castillo” (the castle), is one of the UNESCO awarded “New Seven Wonders of the World”. The extraordinary architectural beauty and achievements are sure to leave you in awe!

Time to cool off in one of the largest and most spectacular sinkholes on The Yucatan Peninsula Peninsula; the “Sacred Blue Cenote” (Ikil), can be found just a few minutes from Chichén Itzá.  Formed during the Ice Ages, cenotes were held sacred by the Mayan civilization and many contain remains of offerings to their gods. Recently, experienced divers discovered Maya artifacts upstream of some of the sinkholes they explored dating back over 1,000 years.

After the excitement of the morning, it is time for lunch.  You will be enchanted from the moment you enter the grounds housing the Colonial Hacienda Chichén (built by the Spaniards in 1523), its 16th century church and the lush tropical gardens. The Fusion Mayan cuisine at the hacienda is based on ancient recipes and meals are prepared from 100% locally organic grown produces.

Last stop of the day, the colonial “Pueblo Mágico” Valladolid, named after the old capital of Spain. Its cathedral and haciendas still stand the same way they did five hundred years ago. The “Programa Pueblos Mágicos” (Magical Villages Program) is an initiative led by Mexico‘s Secretary of Tourism,, recognizing towns throughout the country for their cultural riches and historical relevance. Valladolid was established by the Spanish Conquest in 1543 and will make you feel like you stepped back in time.

Round up the day with a magical journey through Mexico´s moving history with a dinner performance at Xcaret.  In a spectacular setting more than 300 actors with original costumes will displayed traditional dances, ancient Mayan ballgames, songs, legends and all the festivities of the different cultural regions of the country. While you cheer, sing and dance along dinner is served.
